Blueprint Necktie: Detroit Train Station Ironwork Silk Tie
Blueprint Necktie: Michigan Central Station Ironwork, 100% silk tie. Ironwork detail of MCS (commonly known as simply "The Train Station"). From original 1912 blueprints, painstakingly restored by us. We’ve digitally restored the original print in order to give you a clearer representation of our beloved historic landmark.
Created by the architects who also designed New York City’s Grand Central Terminal, MCS is an ubiquitous symbol of Detroit. Shuttered in 1988 and now in ruins, it is one of the most photographed structures in the city. At the time of its construction, Michigan Central Depot was the tallest rail station in the world.
This print extends high up on the tie, approx. 18" from the bottom point; perfect to be seen from under a vest or jacket.
