Baroque Pearl Cufflinks, Real Freshwater Pearl Cuff Links

Baroque pearls are any pearls that have an irregular and unique shape rather than a perfectly round shape. They often have a beautiful high luster and come in a rainbow of iridescent pastel color overtones.

• REGULAR SIZE: Each averages ~1.5cm - 2cm at it's largest; (that's between the size of a US dime and a US penny)
  
• XL SIZE: Each averages ~2cm - 2.5cm at it's largest; (that's between the size of a US nickel and bit larger)
• Creamy white with iridescence and a wonderful luster
  
• Reverse side at the hardware attachment is lightly coated in resin to help prevent damage while wearing or if dropped, acting as a "bumper"
  
• Natural, un-dyed stones

► ABOUT THE PEARLS!
Originating from the Portuguese word 'barocco', meaning imperfect, the term baroque is used to describe irregular, asymmetrical shaped pearls. Baroque coin pearls are freshwater pearls, grown in mussels living in rivers and lakes. Like all cultured pearls, coin pearls get their start in a pearl farm when a pearl technician inserts a nucleus into a mollusk. The difference between this process and that of traditional pearls is that here the nucleus is flat or coin shaped. This guides the mollusk into creating a flat pearl. The process can take up to a year or more before the pearl is ready.

I work between my home base in Detroit, MI and a mobile RV studio Arizona, where I source all our stone, crystal, shell and fossil there and at the Tucson and Quartzsite AZ gem shows. All are intuitively sourced in person, from only the most reputable individual suppliers.
