Deep Purple Uruguay Amethyst Crystal Lapel Pin, raw stone crystal brooch

$ 40.00

Amethyst Point Lapel Pin. NEW ROCK STOCK FOR 2023! Restocked from Tucson. Deep Purple Uruguay Amethyst. Some say that the Amethyst stones found in Uruguay are amongst the finest in the world - it is hard to argue with that when you consider the depth of color they produce! Floral boutonniere? Nah. Flowers die in a day. Finally a lapel pin that really...rocks! 😉

  • Stones average ~3cm at their largest, slightly larger than what we use for the coordinating cufflinks
  • Stone origin: Artigas Uruguay. Sourced in-person from the Tucson Gem Show
  • One lapel pin.
  • Stick pin part is 6cm long
  • Hardware is drilled in, then each is extra-securely attached with aircraft grade bonding. The reverse attachment point is then coated in resin to prevent damage, because gravity happens!
  • Handmade. Please allow for slight variations in color, shape and size of the stones.
  • Handmade in-house using only natural un-dyed stones.
  • Snazzy gift box included.

â–ș ABOUT THE STONES!
According to the internet that knows all things, the Greek word "amethystos" may be translated as "not drunken," from Greek a-, "not" + methustos, "intoxicated". Amethyst was considered to be a strong antidote against drunkenness, which is why wine goblets were often carved from it in Greece back in the day. So have some wine with your amethyst cufflinks and maybe you'll feel fewer bad feels the next morning? We can't guarantee that, but you'll sure look good trying!

â–șABOUT THE CRAFTSMANSHIP:
NEW! I use traditional, time-honored lapidary techniques to drill into the stones in order to sink the pin hardware deep into the stone's surface, so your lapel pin will not come apart. This time-consuming process is done in addition to the adhesive and resin layers that attach the stones to the metal hardware. Most crafters skip this most important drilling (and resin) step.

â–șABOUT THE MAKER:
Each is unique and one of a kind, and made by hand by printmaker, metalworking artist and Cyberoptix founder, Bethany Shorb. I work between my home base in Detroit, MI and a mobile RV studio Arizona, where I source all our stone, crystal, shell, fossil and horn specimens there and at the Tucson and Quartzsite AZ gem shows. All are intuitively sourced in person, from only the most reputable individual suppliers.

Fathers of the bride, grooms and groomsmen - if only one set is shown as available, more similar stones can usually be sourced quickly and I can make plenty more, we can make sets for wedding parties or groomsmen gifts.
